I'm currently using a Ryzen 7 5700G with the stock cooler and it's struggling to maintain reasonable temperatures. Even in the winter, with ambient temperatures around 10-17°C, my CPU idles between 40-46°C. The real issue arises when I run a benchmark, where temperatures spike to 90°C or more very quickly, forcing me to stop the tests early. I've already reapplied thermal paste but the results haven't improved. With summer approaching and ambient temperatures often exceeding 40°C, I'm worried the stock cooler won't be able to handle it. I'm looking for a budget-friendly aftermarket air cooler that can keep my CPU under 70°C at full load. Given the higher PC part prices where I live, value is a significant factor for me. Any recommendations?

My 5700G tends to run hotter than my 5700X. You can definitely find a decent tower cooler for around $25 that will handle it just fine.
Ditch the stock Wraith cooler and grab a cheap tower cooler. I bought a 4-pipe dual fan tower cooler, and it dropped the temps of my 5700G by over 15°C! The stock cooler isn’t great, especially compared to what I had with the 3400G.
True! Any recommendations on which cooler to go with?
I had a similar issue and fixed it by improving my case cooling and airflow. Installing some good PWM fans in the right spots made a world of difference. Remember, if you just get a better CPU cooler without fixing airflow, you might end up with more heat trapped inside. If that doesn’t help, you can consider an AIO cooler as a next step if you change your mind about water cooling.
That might be the case, but my case fans seem okay. I'm planning to switch to a new case with better mesh and fewer dust issues. Still, I've heard too many horror stories about water leaks, so I'll avoid that for now.
What are your gaming temps? And what software are you using for benchmarking? Although hitting 90°C is concerning, it's not likely to damage your CPU directly. If you’re considering an upgrade anyway, the Phantom Spirit is a solid budget pick for better cooling.
Last time I checked, it hits around 72°C during gaming.

There are just too many options out there! I'm looking for something more specific that's good value for the price.
