I'm looking for some simple explanations regarding GPUs since my RTX 2060 seems to be on its last legs. My current setup includes an MSI Lightning M2 motherboard, an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, and the GeForce 2060 RTX, all roughly 7 years old. I've already replaced my old 550w PSU with a CoolerMaster MWE Gold 750 about 6 months ago due to some previous issues. I run Windows 10 and connect to an older 1080p TV via HDMI.
With a tight budget of approximately $500 AUD, I'm overwhelmed by the options available on umart.com.au. I want to know what would be the best replacement GPU given my needs – mostly gaming on titles like Fallout 76, Valheim, and Satisfactory. I've seen various models like the RTX 4060, 5060, and Radeon 9060 XT, all with 8GB of memory.
I'm also curious if I need to stick with MSI GPUs since I have an MSI motherboard, or if an AMD card is better because I'm using an AMD CPU. Does the brand even matter much these days? I need guidance on what would work best with my current setup and any advice on making this choice easier would be appreciated!

You can use any brand of GPU with your setup, so don't worry too much about that! Just check the length of the GPU to make sure it fits in your case, as you can find those measurements online.
You're in a great spot because anything you upgrade to from the 2060 will be a significant improvement. There's no strict requirement to go for 16GB of VRAM; if you can save up a little more for that, go for it, but if not, 8GB will still work fine. I recommend checking out the RTX 5060 – it's a good choice and will be a huge upgrade!
You're pretty flexible with GPU options, but the only major limitation is the power capacity of your PSU. If you want to save some cash, I'd suggest looking into used cards since prices have been crazy lately. But if you're set on new, the Radeon RX 9060 XT fits your budget and would be suitable for your current needs, even if 8GB might not last for years. Here's a link to one you might find useful: [Gigabyte GAMING Radeon RX 9060 XT 8 GB](https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/jVm2FT/gigabyte-gaming-radeon-rx-9060-xt-8-gb-video-card-gv-r9060xtgaming-8gd).
Good idea on the used market, especially to get something decent for a reasonable price!

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll check it out.
