I'm looking for recommendations on a lightweight Linux distribution and desktop environment for my older laptop. I'm planning to replace its HDD with an SSD and would love to know what works best. I prefer Arch-based systems, but that's not a strict requirement. Any advice on what to use?

If you’re leaning towards Arch, just go with that. But if you want to explore, make a Ventoy Live USB and test out different lightweight distros like Xubuntu, which uses XFCE. It strikes a good balance between being light and retaining essential features.

I'll mainly play games like Minecraft and use Wine, so I just need the basics while away. Thanks for the tip!
