I'm using a Dell laptop with Windows 11, and since this morning, the keys on the top row of my keyboard are completely messed up. The volume and brightness buttons, along with keys like Prt Sc, Home, End, Insert, and Delete, aren't functioning as they should. For example, the lower volume button opens the search feature (like pressing Ctrl+F), one brightness button refreshes the page, and the End key makes my laptop go full screen. The only key that seems normal is the Escape key. I didn't change anything; it was all working perfectly last night. I even left my laptop open while I was listening to a stream, so maybe I accidentally pressed something while I was sleeping? I've already tried restarting it and all the other keys are working fine—just the top row is a problem!

It sounds like you might just need to toggle the Function Lock. There’s usually a key on Dell laptops that works like Caps Lock, but for the function keys. Try hitting that and see if it helps!
OK, I held down the Fn key while pressing the top row buttons, and it made them work correctly. But when I let go, they reverted back to the wrong functions. Is there a way to keep it from doing that every time?
Edit: Never mind! I found out that I must’ve accidentally locked the Fn key by holding it down with Esc. Just unlocked it! Thanks so much!
