Fixing Qualcomm WiFi Issues on Dual Boot with Ubuntu and Windows 11

I'm having trouble with my PC that runs both Ubuntu 22.04 and Windows 11. My motherboard is the MSI X870 Gaming Plus WiFi, which uses Qualcomm firmware for WiFi and Bluetooth. The problem arises when I boot into Windows after using Ubuntu; my WiFi gets disabled. I discovered that the Qualcomm firmware doesn't reset after shutting down, causing issues with dual booting. I've tried disabling fast boot and unplugging the PSU, but my WiFi still won't work after switching back to Windows. I even added 'pcie_aspm=off' in the grub configuration, updated it, and restarted, but that didn't help either. I unloaded the ath11k driver, and still no luck. Does anyone have a solution to get my WiFi up and running again?

You might also consider checking if your MSI motherboard has a clear CMOS button on the back panel. If it does, consult your manual for instructions. Just a heads-up, you'll need to redo any tweaks you've made. If the problem persists, replacing the WiFi module with an Intel one could help. They're generally more compatible with Linux systems.

Totally agree! Intel AX or BE WiFi cards usually work great with Linux, and they're not too pricey. Also, if you're looking into your options, check out the links for patches related to this issue.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm thinking about getting the Intel AX210 WiFi module.

One quick fix is to disable the fast restart feature in Windows. A lot of users find that this helps resolve similar issues when switching OSes. Give it a try!

Yeah, I've heard that could work! Fast booting in Windows can definitely be a culprit for these kinds of problems.
