I'm new to using Linux, and I'm having trouble with Steam. Every time I try to launch a game, it shows that it's loading but nothing actually happens, even after following some steps from ProtonDB. I could use some guidance on what I might be doing wrong. Thanks a lot!

When Steam gives you trouble, try launching it from the terminal. It’ll usually show error messages that can help figure out what’s going wrong. Just type `steam` in the terminal to start it.
First off, what games are you trying to play? Have you thought about using Proton Experimental or a custom version like ProtonGE? Also, it would be good to check your setup details.
By the way, are you running Debian? Just checking since some setups have specific quirks that can mess with Steam.
Make sure you’re not trying to run the game from your Windows drive. That won’t work well on Linux. Either move your game files to a Linux-compatible filesystem or redownload them.
Are you using an NTFS filesystem for your game installations? If so, that might be causing your issues.
