Which Upgrade Should I Prioritize for My Gaming PC?

I'm looking for some guidance on upgrading my gaming PC. I built my first one back in 2022, and it currently runs a 3060 graphics card with a Ryzen 5 5600X CPU. I just received a 9060 XT for Christmas, and I'm planning my next steps. I'm considering getting either a Ryzen 7 7800X3D or a Ryzen 9 9800X3D along with 32GB of DDR5 RAM. Given the current RAM shortage, should I focus on upgrading my RAM first, or should I save up and get the motherboard and CPU together? Also, which of the two processors would be a better choice for my needs? The aim is mainly gaming, with some light productivity on the side, and I've already got a 240mm AIO cooler for this upgrade. By the way, I'm located in Canada.

It sounds like you’re on the right track! Since you're transitioning to an AM5 platform, you'll need to replace your motherboard and CPU together since AM5 won't work with DDR4 RAM. I'd recommend saving up for both the CPU and motherboard rather than upgrading the RAM separately, as you’ll have to switch everything over anyway.

That makes sense, thanks! Just to clarify, would you suggest going for the 7800X3D or 9800X3D?
