Which is Better for AutoCAD: Intel or AMD?

I'm looking to build a new PC mainly for 2D work with AutoCAD—no heavy 3D tasks. I've narrowed it down to two setups in the ~€1700 price range. One features an Intel Ultra 7 265K with a Gigabyte Z890 Gaming X motherboard, while the other uses an AMD Ryzen 7 9700X paired with a B650 Gaming Plus motherboard. Both will have 2x16 GB of DDR5 RAM and an RTX 5060. The RAM and graphics card seem sufficient, but I'm open to other recommendations. What do you think?

I'd check out some benchmarks. The Intel 265K has slightly better single-core performance, which can benefit AutoCAD. In Cinebench 2024, it scored 145 points, compared to 136 for the 9700X. Not a perfect test for AutoCAD specifically, but still worth considering!

I’ve always found Intel to be more stable and reliable for work tasks like AutoCAD. However, that said, keep in mind that newer AMD processors have really improved. Just my two cents!

That's an interesting point! But with the latest 13th and 14th gen Intel, things seem a bit tricky on the stability front too. What’s your take on that?
