Hi everyone! I'm in the market for a new gaming PC that can also handle coding and schoolwork. Specifically, I want to build something powerful enough to run Fortnite at 240 fps and to work well with Unreal Engine 5. I currently have a gaming laptop but I'm not sure which parts can be transferred to a desktop setup. Here's what I already have: 16 GB DDR5 5600 laptop RAM, a 1TB SSD, an RTX 4050, and a Ryzen 7 8845HS. Any guidance on how I can build or buy a decent PC within a $2000 budget would be hugely appreciated. By the way, I'm only 15 so please be nice!

You can definitely use the SSD, but I'd focus on building a new system from scratch using that as one of the components. Here's a solid build I found that keeps you under budget:

- **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 7 9700X 3.8 GHz
- **Cooler**: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE
- **Motherboard**: MSI PRO B850M-A WiFi
- **Memory**: 32 GB DDR5-6000
- **Storage**: Your 1TB SSD
- **GPU**: PowerColor Reaper Radeon RX 9070
- **Case**: Montech AIR 100 ARGB
- **Power Supply**: 750W 80+ Gold Certified

This setup brings you to about $1849.61, which is great for all your gaming needs!

Just a heads up, laptop CPUs and GPUs are usually soldered to the motherboard and not reusable in a desktop. That being said, if the SSD is standard M.2, you can use that in your build. For the RAM, if it's SODIMM, there are adapters you can buy to make it fit, but generally, I'd recommend sticking with desktop RAM for better compatibility. Also, just to clarify, when you say 2k, are we talking USD? That budget can get you a very capable system if you plan it right!
