How do I start customizing my own Linux setup?

I'm currently running Debian with i3 on a virtual machine, and I'm eager to create my own beautiful Linux 'rice.' However, I'm not sure where to begin. I can't fully switch to Linux because I need Windows for college and prefer not to dual boot due to battery issues related to switching operating systems frequently. Any advice on customization or resources to use would be greatly appreciated!

There's actually a helpful resources page on Linux setups that could give you some great tips! And remember, it's smart to take regular backups and try things out in a VM—always understand a command before hitting Enter!

Honestly, just posting a screenshot of your desktop with an anime girl wallpaper and a terminal showing off some custom ASCII art will get you 90% of the way there! It's all about that aesthetic. 😂

For some cool inspiration, check out sites dedicated to beautiful Unix setups. If you enjoy the built-in features, you might also like Polybar, which is quite popular for customization. The i3wm documentation is super helpful too—definitely worth a look!
