I've recently noticed that Chrome displays a message saying "Your browser is managed by your organization," even though I'm not signed into any account. I used to log into my school account, but I'm pretty sure I signed out a while ago. I ran a full scan on my PC recently, and there were no issues found. I generally use another browser more often, so I'm puzzled by this! Does anyone know how to remove that message?

When you registered Chrome with your school account, it linked the browser to their management system. Simply removing the account doesn't always clear that management status. A common fix is to uninstall and reinstall Chrome; it’s easier than digging through registry files.
If you signed in with your school account, it's expected to see that message. To get rid of it, try logging out of Chrome and signing in with your personal account instead. If there's no user account logged in, then it seems odd that the message is still there.
The thing is, I made sure I logged out of everything, so I'm confused why it still shows up.
Chrome detects if it's managed by looking for registry keys and other settings, so there can be various reasons why that message appears even after switching accounts. If it bothers you, reinstalling Chrome could help, but if it's just a leftover key, that won’t fix it. Honestly, if you rarely use it, you might just want to ignore it!
Yeah, I think I’ll just ignore it since I hardly use Chrome anyway. I've checked that it doesn’t show my account logged in to Google, so no worries!
It could also be caused by certain antivirus programs like AVG in the past, though that’s less common now. Check the settings on your computer under Accounts -> Access work or school to see if there's any registration lingering there.
It sounds like when you signed in with your school account, it might have modified some settings on your device. This could be through Group Policy which restricts things like your default browser, browser settings, and search engines. Even after logging out, these changes can stick around.
So it's basically leftover data from that account? Got it!

That makes sense, but it's a little odd since it’s my home PC. I never clicked on the profile icon for my school, just signed in when prompted.
