I struggle with anxiety when it comes to choosing parts for my PC. Even seeing one or two negative reviews makes me second-guess my choices, and as a result, I end up not buying anything at all. I'm looking for some straightforward advice.
I'm not aiming to play the latest games on ultra settings; I just want a faster computer that can stream without crashing, especially if I run an additional program.
I typically play games like modded Minecraft, Deadlock, Expedition 33, Factorio, Helldivers, some titles from FromSoftware, and I dabble in music production.
Here's a breakdown of the parts I'm considering:
- Motherboard: ASUS Z690-Plus D4
- GPU: MSI SHADOW GeForce RTX 5070 (12GB)
- CPU: Options between AMD Ryzen 7600X (6-core) or Ryzen 7800X3D (8-core)
- Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 2TB (3.5" Internal HD)
- SSD: SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS M.2 (250GB)
- PSU: Looking for a reliable option, around 500W
- RAM: Planning to get 2 sticks of 16GB DDR4 (with a chance of more in the future if prices drop)
Any recommendations or insights would be greatly appreciated!

You can't use the Ryzen 7600 or the 7800X3D with that motherboard since they require an AM5 socket, which is compatible only with DDR5. Your ASUS Z690-Plus D4 motherboard supports Intel's 12th, 13th, and 14th-gen CPUs instead. Honestly, I suggest looking for a different processor. Also, consider getting a 1TB SSD. It’ll be way faster than the HDD, which is pretty slow by comparison.
Check out PCPartPicker to see if all your selected parts will work together. It can help you sort out any conflicts before you purchase anything.
Make sure you get DDR5 RAM if you're going with that CPU. It's a must-have for compatibility.
