I'm currently working counter sales at a supply warehouse where we use an old version of Epicor Eclipse, which looks like an MS-DOS command prompt rather than a modern GUI. Unfortunately, there's no formal training available. The training I received is mostly a list of keyboard shortcuts without explanations of what they actually do. My colleagues, who are mostly in their 50s and 60s, simply don't remember the context behind the keys they use.
For example, instead of explaining how to clock in using clear steps, I was just told to press 'F2 C T I Y' and hit enter, which makes it hard for me to grasp what I'm doing. While I can match keys to actions when things are slow, it becomes challenging during busy times. I want to learn on my own when I have downtime or even at home, but all the resources I find are for the newer versions with graphical interfaces. I asked my boss for training materials, and he couldn't help me because no one has asked for them in decades.
I'm looking for two things:
1. Resources like cheat sheets or tips specific to the legacy version of Eclipse that can help me learn, especially for counter sales or inventory tasks.
2. Advice on how to communicate my learning challenges to management without sounding like I'm blaming others or complaining.

You might want to check out the [Epicor Learning Center](https://learncenter.epicor.com/epicorelc.onmicrosoft.com/oauth2/v2.0/authorize?p=b2c_1a_signup_signin&client_id=2ff7fa00-7af4-44d1-b605-4c778a3e593c&response_type=code&scope=openid&redirect_uri=https%3A%2F%2Flearncenter.epicor.com%2Fmanage%2Fv1%2Fopenidconnect%2Fcode&state=47bb67473059c74198c3). It might have some relevant tutorials or resources.
Is this an ETerm system? If so, check out this link to a related video: [ETerm Video Guide](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdlOJ-YHWdo&list=PLUhpl5KDpNh0qS6ywmXFnIrwMgNvUx6F5&index=6). It could provide some great visual assistance in learning the commands.
Yes! I can't believe I missed this, but thank you! I'll check it out on my lunch break.
It's crazy that they still expect you to learn on such an old version while the company could upgrade. But, if you're looking for training materials, try to identify which specific version of Eclipse you are using. Check for a logo or some version details here: [Eclipse ERP Logo Versions](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eclipse_ERP#Logo_versions). That should help narrow down your search for manuals or guides.
The About section in the help tab says it's 'Eclipse Network and Serial Terminal Emulator version 4.32'. That might help find more documentation.
I found some links that might help you out:
- [Eclipse online help for Eterm](http://96.87.114.185:2080/Eclipse-Help/CHUI/!SSL!/WebHelp/index.html)
- [Tips and Tricks Document](https://host9.viethwebhosting.com/~eug/docs/Eterm_Tips_Tricks.pdf)
- [Admin Manual](https://manualzz.com/doc/28939753/eclipse-solar--eterm-system-admin-software-user-manual)
Also, pressing 'F9' on any field will show contextual help, and 'F11' brings up online help for the specific menu you're in. This could give you additional insight into what each shortcut means. Hope this helps!
Best comment so far! These documents really seem useful.
Thank you so much! This will definitely make things clearer for me!
If all else fails, using a language model could provide help. Type in your commands or questions, and it could offer helpful insights in real-time. Though, be cautious with outdated software and keybinds; it might not always get it right.
But won't that lead to confusion? Modern AI could misinterpret older logic and advice.

Thanks! I showed this to my supervisor, but he said he’d never seen it before. I'm hoping I can make a personal account and check it out.
