I bought a gaming PC in early 2020, but it's starting to struggle with games now. I mainly play popular titles like Counter-Strike and Minecraft, as well as some older games. The performance has been disappointing with constant stuttering and frame drops. I realize my RAM is likely too low, so I'm thinking about upgrading to the CORSAIR VENGEANCE LPX DDR4 RAM 32GB. Is that a good choice? Are there any other upgrades I should consider to improve my gaming experience without breaking the bank? Here are my current specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X (6-Core, 3.80GHz, Turbo at 4.4GHz, 32MB L3 Cache)
- FAN: AMD Ryzen Wraith CPU Cooler
- HDD: 1TB Seagate BarraCuda SATA-III (7200RPM)
- MEMORY: 8GB (2x4GB) DDR4/2400MHz Dual Channel Memory
- MOTHERBOARD: MSI A320M-A PRO (M-ATX, 2 RAM Slots)
- POWERSUPPLY: Cooler Master MWE 550W 80+ Certified
- SSD: 240GB ADATA Ultimate SU630 (520MB/s Read, 450MB/s Write)

Upgrading your RAM to 32GB will definitely help with performance, especially if you're experiencing stuttering. Also, consider upgrading your CPU to a Ryzen 5000 series if your budget allows it; that would provide a significant boost. Just make sure your motherboard supports those upgrades!
An M.2 SSD could greatly speed up loading times and overall responsiveness. Plus, definitely check on your GPU; the Radeon RX 580 should still be decent for the games you mentioned, but if you can upgrade that in the future, it might be worth it!
Yeah, his GPU seems fine for older games, but for newer titles, more upgrade might be needed down the line.

What about his graphics card? Will that hold him back?
