I've been having a strange issue with Chrome since today. It removed my main search bar and is forcing me to use a less convenient search bar at the top of the screen. I took a look at my extensions, but nothing seems suspicious. The only ones I have installed are Norton Home Page, McAfee Web Advisor, Google Docs Offline, and Custom Cursors for Chrome. Any advice on how to fix this? I would really appreciate it! 🙂

Just as a heads up, if you're still having issues after removing those extensions, make sure your Chrome is updated. Sometimes, just an outdated browser can cause some weird glitches too. You might want to check under ‘About Chrome’ in settings and see if there's an update available.
It sounds like Norton might be causing the issue. It’s known to include Secure Search as part of its services, which can mess with your browsing experience. If you're using Chrome OS, I suggest removing Norton completely since it's even been flagged for having a cryptominer in some versions. And if you're using Windows, consider using Revo Uninstaller to completely get rid of Norton and McAfee. Also, think about removing the Custom Cursors extension; those can sometimes cause problems too. Instead, add some security extensions like uBlock and Malwarebytes Browser Guard – they'll help keep ads and malware at bay!
I can relate to your frustrations! The top search bar you're seeing is likely tied to those extensions. Definitely look into removing Norton and McAfee as they can both cause various issues with Chrome's functionality. If you don’t want to mess around too much, you could try resetting your Chrome settings to see if that helps revert things back to normal.
