How Can I Set Up Dual Boot with Windows 11 and Linux?

Hey everyone! I recently switched from Windows 11 Pro to Windows 11 Home since my activation key expired. Now, I'm looking to set up a dual boot so I can use both Windows 11 and Linux. I'm a beginner and not really into using the command line, so I'm hoping for something that feels similar to Windows 11. Can anyone recommend a good version of Linux for me? Also, I could really use some guidance on how to set up the dual boot without messing anything up, especially since that 'Activate Your Windows' watermark is super annoying!

If you have only one SSD and want to install both OSs, you can definitely partition your disk. Tools like GParted will help you resize your current Windows partition and create a new one for Linux. Just make sure to back up your data beforehand in case anything goes wrong!

Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely back up my data first before trying out the partitioning.

Before you commit to dual booting, consider using VirtualBox to run Linux as a virtual machine. It's a safer way to get comfortable with it. If you decide to try dual booting later, I suggest starting with Kubuntu since it uses the KDE desktop environment, which resembles Windows quite a bit.

I definitely recommend Zorin OS! It's really beginner-friendly and designed to look and feel a lot like Windows 11, so it should be a smooth transition for you.
