Looking for Feedback on My New PC Build for Work and Gaming

Hi there! I'm putting together a new PC build after a decade and I could really use your advice. My goal is to create a setup that can handle working from home while also playing AAA games in 4K—all without breaking the bank.

Living in Mexico, I've faced challenges with high prices and limited stock, which has influenced some of my component choices, like opting for faster RAM and specific GPUs. Here's what I've got:

**Motherboard:** MSI B650 GAMING PLUS WIFI ATX AM5 - $185.25
**CPU:** AMD Ryzen 5 9600X 3.9 GHz 6-Core - $207.95
**Cooler:** Thermalright Assassin King 120 SE - $25.15
**GPU:** Sapphire NITRO+ Radeon RX 9070 XT 16 GB - $774.15
**RAM:** GSKILL Trident Z5 Neo 32GB (2x16 GB) 7200Mhz CL34 - $175.95
**Storage:** Kingston NV3 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVME SSD - $127.10
**Case:** NZXT H5 Flow - $123.65
**PSU:** Corsair RM750e 750 W 80+ Gold - $91.80
**Monitor:** KTC M27P6 27" 4K Mini-LED - $473.25
**Keyboard:** Satechi Slim X3 Bluetooth Backlit - $85.00
**Mouse:** Satechi M1 Bluetooth - $34.95
**Total:** $2,304.20
*(Prices are converted from MXN; approximately 1:20)*

I have a few specific concerns:
1. **Monitor Choice (Mini-LED vs OLED):** I went with the Mini-LED for its bright HDR 1400 and 4K resolution. I avoided OLED out of fear of burn-in from static images, given my workstation needs. Do you think my setup (9600X + 9070 XT) can fully utilize this monitor, or is it more than I need?
2. **RAM Compatibility:** I've read that the ideal speed for Ryzen 9000 is 6000MHz CL30. The best option I found was the G.Skill kit at 7200MHz CL34. Is this stable, or should I downclock it in the BIOS?
3. **Motherboard Future-Proofing (PCIe 5.0):** I chose a B650 board for budget reasons. Am I missing out on PCIe 5.0? I'm not looking to buy expensive Gen5 SSDs soon, but what about future GPUs?
4. **Cooling Setup:** I plan to use the stock fans with the CPU cooler. I have some old fans from my last build—will this airflow be enough for the Nitro+ card?
5. **BIOS Flashback:** Since I'm using a 9000-series CPU with a B650 board, do I need to use the BIOS Flashback before installation? How reliable is this on MSI boards?

Thanks for any guidance you can give!

The BIOS Flashback feature is usually pretty reliable on MSI boards. Just follow the instructions closely, and you should be good to go when you install that Ryzen chip.

I’ve heard the NV3 uses QLC flash, which might not last as long as TLC options. For better performance, I'd recommend considering a drive like the Samsung 990 EVO or similar brands. They tend to be more reliable.

For the RAM, running 7200MHz is fine, but downclocking to the recommended 6000MHz can actually help with stability. Just check in the BIOS to tweak those settings!

Good to know! So, should I expect any performance hits if I downclock? I just want my build to be solid!

You’re not missing too much on the PCIe 5.0 front unless you’re eyeing top-tier future GPUs. But, if you're not after super high-end SSDs now, the B650 should hold up just fine for a while!

Considering the monitor, I think you made a decent choice with the Mini-LED. Burn-in is really less of an issue nowadays for OLEDs, but if you're worried about static images, the KTC Mini-LED should serve you well. Your setup should handle that resolution just fine, though some might say it’s a bit over the top for a 9600X.

Yeah, with the 9070 XT, you’ll be able to enjoy all those details in 4K! But keep an eye on those in-game settings; you might not need max graphics on everything.
