Keyboard Disconnects and Media Pausing While Gaming – Help!

I'm experiencing some frustrating issues while gaming on my PC. My keyboard disconnects randomly, especially when I enter large 3D worlds. I get a notification sound from Windows, and the keyboard stops responding for half a second to a few seconds. When it gets bad, it happens frequently, making it nearly impossible to use my PC unless I exit the game.

Additionally, I've noticed that media apps like Spotify or videos in my browser keep pausing unexpectedly. It's not a toggle issue; it just pauses as if the spacebar was pressed, and it resumes for a few seconds before pausing again. I use a Bluetooth headset through a USB dongle, and it behaves as though the headset is disconnecting randomly, even though I can't hear any audio drop.

These problems seem to occur together and tend to flare up for a couple of weeks, then ease off for a while.

I've tried various solutions like using different USB ports for the keyboard, replacing the keyboard, updating drivers, reverting Windows to factory settings, and ensuring that USB power saving settings are disabled. Here are my specs: OS Windows 11, AMD Ryzen 9 3900X CPU, TUF GAMING X570-PLUS motherboard, and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080Ti graphics card.

It sounds like your USB controller might be going bad. Is your mouse connected via USB too? If it fails alongside the keyboard, that's a strong indication. You could get a separate USB controller on a PCI card; they're usually not too pricey. Just make sure to confirm it's the controller issue before you buy anything.

Thanks for the input! The mouse is wired, and I haven't noticed any issues with it, so that’s good to know.
