I'm running into a frustrating issue where videos in my browser start to lag when I'm playing games. My setup consists of a high-end gaming monitor (Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 G61SD, 2560×1440 at 240 Hz) connected via DisplayPort and a second monitor (LG Ultragear 27GN950, 3840×2160 at 60 Hz) connected via HDMI. While downloaded mp4 files play smoothly on the second monitor during gaming, YouTube videos and Twitch streams stutter and lag as soon as I start a game. The audio gets choppy too, but if I alt tab, everything resumes normal playback. I didn't have this issue with my previous setup that had the same LG 4K monitor alongside an older VGA monitor. I've tried enabling and disabling hardware acceleration in my browser, switched from Opera GX to Brave, and updated my GPU drivers. Here's my specs: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 GPU, Intel i7-12700K CPU, 32 GB RAM, and I'm using Windows 11. I'm connected via Ethernet, currently experiencing around 90 Mbps download and 60 Mbps upload speeds. Is there something in my settings (Windows, GPU, browser, or monitor refresh rates) I can adjust to fix this problem? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried setting your main monitor to 60 Hz? It’s not a permanent fix, but it may help identify if the refresh rate is causing the video lag. When I experienced something similar, adjusting the refresh rates helped clarify the issue.
It seems like your issue might be related to your network speeds fluctuating when you're gaming. While you might not experience lag in the game itself, lower bandwidth could still affect streaming, especially with heavy loads. Keep an eye on your internet connection to see if it's consistent. You mentioned it’s been bad lately, so that could be a factor!
Yeah, I noticed the speeds dropped recently. But it's weird because it used to work fine before. Thanks for the tip!

I just tried it, and it actually stopped the lag! But limiting the in-game frames to 60 absolutely fixed it. Does that mean my GPU is not performing well? My RTX 3080 should handle this without hiccups, right?
