I recently purchased an MSI PRO B850M-A WIFI motherboard along with a Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 850W power supply. The motherboard has two power receptacles for an 8-pin and a 4-pin connector. My power supply includes a cable that splits into two 8-pin connectors, with one end connecting to the PSU and the other end having two 8-pin connectors for the motherboard. I'm unsure whether I should look for a cable that has a single 8-pin on both ends, or a cable that features an 8-pin and a 4-pin connector for the motherboard. Alternatively, can I just let the extra 8-pin connector on the cable from the PSU hang without connecting it? I just want to make sure I'm setting things up correctly. Thanks!

You really don't need to connect the 4-pin on your motherboard. If your 8-pin cable splits into a 4+4 configuration, you can use that optional 4-pin connector if you wish, but it's totally fine to leave the extra 8-pin dangling without connecting it.
Your power supply has a connector that's designed to split into two 4+4 pins. You should plug one full 4+4 into the motherboard, but if you’re seeing both sides as solid 8 pins, then you can just connect one of them and leave the other one out.
