Is it Safe to Mix Different DDR4 RAM Modules?

I currently have a Crucial Ballistix 2x16GB 3000MHz CL15 RAM kit, but one of the sticks failed, and I need to replace it. The warranty replacement will be for a Crucial Pro 3200MHz CL22 stick. I'm wondering if mixing these two will be a hassle. My existing RAM is dual-rank while the new one is single-rank, and I've seen mixed opinions on whether these will work together. Since the speeds differ, I'm guessing they'll both downclock to 3000MHz CL22, which worries me about performance. Is it possible to manually overclock both sticks to a safer 3200MHz CL18? I think the new stick uses Micron F-die and my old one used E-die.

Mixing RAM can be tricky! Generally, you can mix them, but it won't always work out. Sometimes you might get lucky and both kits will run together, especially if the RAM is compatible. But then again, there’s a real chance that your system might not boot at all, which would be a pain. I’d recommend trying to get a full kit replacement if you can, just to avoid the headache.

Yeah, totally! The hassle of potential boot failures just isn't worth it. Better to have a matching kit.
