I'm looking to switch to Linux and would appreciate some help in picking the right distribution. I want something that's easy to install since I plan to mainly use Unity and GameMaker Studio on my PC. Any recommendations?

For beginners, I'd suggest trying out Linux Mint or Fedora. They both have user-friendly interfaces. However, it would help to know more about your hardware and any specific preferences you have. Also, looking into different desktop environments could be useful—maybe try multiple distros using a tool like Ventoy.
If you're open to alternatives, check out Kubuntu or Fedora KDE. They both offer the KDE desktop, which has a similar feel to Windows while also being highly customizable. Both are very stable and user-friendly, making them great for gaming and general use.
Don't overlook CashyOS if you're focusing on gaming. It’s been gaining popularity for its gaming features and could be a good fit for your needs.
Ubuntu is definitely a solid choice, especially for Unity and GameMaker Studio since they appear to be optimized for it. It’s well-supported with good documentation and a strong community. Just keep in mind that GameMaker's Linux build is still in beta, so you might want to stick with Windows for now until it’s stable.
