Why Can’t I See My Wiped Drive with My External USB Reader?

I'm using a BlacX external drive device and I'm having trouble with a couple of drives I want to format. I have a 320GB hard drive that supposedly was wiped, but when I connect it to the BlacX, my laptop doesn't recognize it at all. I've tried the usual commands to see if it shows up but no luck.

I also have some new SSDs that I want to set up for an operating system and backups. Can I format them through the BlacX, or do I need to connect them to my laptop using a different method? Any help would be appreciated!

You should check if the drives are recognized by using the command `sudo fdisk -l`. It’s a handy way to see what's connected. Once you find them, you can use a partition manager like GParted or Partition Manager to format and partition them as needed. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip! I used `sudo fdisk -l` and found the 256MB SSDs and some 1TB drives, but those wiped drives aren't showing up. Trying to figure out what's wrong!
