Hey everyone! I'm looking for help with upgrading the RAM on my HP Omen 16L gaming PC, which has an Intel H770 chipset motherboard. Currently, it has 8GB of RAM, and I'm hoping to switch to 16GB using XMP for better performance. I'm considering the Crucial Pro OC 16GB DDR5-6400 CL32 UDIMM. Will this RAM be compatible with my motherboard? Any insights would be appreciated!

Just a note, some users mentioned that this motherboard isn’t capable of true memory overclocking. Double-check to make sure, just to be safe!
Your H770 motherboard supports memory overclocking, so you can definitely use XMP RAM kits. Just a heads up, using two memory sticks will usually give you better performance than going with a single, higher-speed stick. For example, two sticks of DDR5 4800 can match the performance of one stick of DDR5 9600. If you're thinking about mixing speeds, keep that in mind!
What if I keep one 8GB stick with 4800 speed and add the 6400 speed stick? Will they work together fine? I'm kinda clueless about this! 😀
Yes, since your system uses DDR5 RAM, you can mix in different DDR5 modules, and they should work together without any issues.
So a new RAM with higher speeds and better latency won’t cause any problems? Thanks for the info! 🙂

Actually, it can do overclocking, just not with the stock RAM. That's why I'm planning to switch it out, and I've also unlocked the advanced settings in the BIOS!
