I'm having an odd issue with my desktop PC running Windows 11. It's connected via LAN and doesn't have a VPN, but it's showing my geolocation as DeWitt, Michigan instead of my actual location in Boston. My laptop on the same network correctly identifies Boston. I've tried restarting my desktop, toggling Location Services, and checking the geolocation service in Service Manager, but nothing changes. Interestingly, a site that tracks my IP shows Boston while a GPS-reliant site shows Michigan. I'm really confused about what's going on here!

Have you checked the settings under Privacy & Security > Location? Sometimes, the defaults can be misconfigured, which might mess with geolocation accuracy.
I've tested this issue on multiple browsers like Firefox and Edge, and I'm getting the same incorrect geolocation. It seems to happen across different sites as well.
Is your desktop GPS hardware configured properly? Also, what's your internet service provider? This is important to understand the root of the issue.
This could very well be an issue with your internet provider. It seems like your IP address is being misregistered somewhere. Have you tried setting a default location in the privacy settings? Just go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Location > Default Location and see if that helps.
I tried setting a default location, but it didn't resolve the issue. Plus, if I turn off the location services, my browser keeps asking for the location instead.
Just to confirm, are you using a VPN? That could definitely affect your geolocation results.

I'm curious about this too! It could help clear things up.
