I'm having a frustrating issue with my iPad. It usually works fine for hours, but then it suddenly starts turning off and on repeatedly. I've checked and it's definitely not an auto-lock issue since that feature is turned off. Sometimes I can only get it to the home screen for a second before it goes back to sleep, and even entering my password is a struggle because it just locks again. I notice the lock screen flashing on and off without me doing anything. My warranty just expired, so I'm wondering if I need to take it in for repairs. Also, I have a video of the issue, but I'm not sure how to share it here.

Sounds like a rough situation! Since the top button is also not working, it might be a hardware issue. I would recommend trying a hard reset first. Just hold down both the home button and the power button until you see the Apple logo. If that doesn’t help, you might need to take it in. It's a bummer that your warranty expired, but some repairs can be worth it if it’s acting this way.
Totally get it! Hope it’s not too serious. Maybe check with Apple if they have any options for out-of-warranty repairs that won't break the bank.
Have you done a backup recently? If you need to take it in for repairs, having a backup will help you avoid losing any important data. If you backed up yesterday, that’s great! Just make sure everything important is saved before you hand it over.
Yeah, I backed up just yesterday at 11 PM automatically, but this issue has been ongoing for a while. Thanks for the reminder, though!
Good to hear you have a recent backup! Just make sure to keep it updated to avoid any data loss after repairs.

Yeah, a hard reset can sometimes clear things up. If it keeps happening, though, I'm with you on the repair suggestion. Being out of warranty is a pain, but it might be necessary.
