Need Help with Low Frame Rates Using My 9060XT

I've recently upgraded to a 9060XT from a 1660 Super and I'm enjoying solid performance at 1080p for most games. However, I'm facing a challenge with certain titles like Arc Raiders, Cyberpunk, and Hogwarts Legacy where I'm struggling to hit 60 frames. It seems like my CPU might be the bottleneck since it's maxed out at 100% utilization. I'm considering the Ryzen 7 5700X since it's available, but I'm uncertain if it will resolve my issue. I'd prefer not to upgrade to AM5 due to high prices. Here are my specs:

- GPU: 9060XT
- CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
- RAM: 16 GB DDR4
- Motherboard: Asrock B450
- PSU: 550 W Gold Seasonic
- Monitor: 1080p

It sounds like your CPU is definitely holding you back. You should check if you’re reaching close to the max boost clock of 4.2GHz for your Ryzen 5 3600. Upgrading to a Ryzen 7 5700X would definitely provide a boost in performance. It's a solid move if you're looking to improve those frame rates!

Your CPU is too underpowered for the 9060XT. It's like you're choking the GPU and not letting it perform its best. The 9060XT is actually aimed at 1440p gaming, so it's off the mark for 1080p too. I recommend considering a CPU upgrade like the 5800X3D or the 5700X, as both will help. I have a 7600X paired with a 7800XT, and I see similar bottlenecking in some titles like BeamNG Drive.

I found a 5800XT for around $200. Do you think that would help? The x3Ds seem hard to find.

The 5800XT could definitely improve things for you, especially if you're on a budget. Just make sure it fits well with your current setup!

Any of the 5000 series CPUs will help you out. I've got a 5700X with a 9070XT and while playing at 1440p, I see good performance in games like Cyberpunk. My CPU usage hovers around 70-80% while my GPU stays maxed out. It’s a solid combo!
