I'm looking to upgrade my GPU from a GTX 1060 6GB, which I currently use alongside a Ryzen 7 3700x. I found two used options locally: an EVGA GeForce RTX 4060 8GB for $180 and a PNY RTX 4060 8GB for $175. I'm curious about whether these are a good choice, especially since I'm hoping to use the card for the next 3-5 years before I do another build. I don't do a lot of gaming on my PC, mostly console gaming these days, but I want something that will last a while. Should I consider alternatives like a 3070 or 3080?

Definitely consider that 3080 if you can negotiate the price a bit. The 10GB VRAM can make a big difference in performance, especially in modern games. But if you're mainly on console right now, the 4060s will still serve you well for a couple of years!
The important thing to check is the VRAM. 8GB might be okay for now, but newer games might need more. If you can find a used 3070 or 3080, I'd recommend those since they come with more VRAM, which will future-proof your setup a bit better. Just be cautious with the prices, since the 3080 can get pricey!
Yeah, I agree! I had a 1060 too, and switching to a card with more VRAM made a huge difference for me. If you can stretch your budget, it's worth it!

I had a similar setup, and even though the 4060s are good, having a bit more VRAM helps a lot in gaming. Just something to think about!
