I'm using an i5 13600k with a Gigabyte B760 Gaming X AX motherboard. While my CPU handles basic tasks fine, it reaches 100 degrees and throttles, leading to crashes during gaming. I've tested on both Windows and CachyOS; it takes a bit longer to hit 100 degrees on CachyOS but it still crashes eventually. What could be causing this issue?

It sounds like a cooling issue. Common reasons for overheating include dried thermal paste, blocked or non-functioning CPU fans, or even an issue with your AIO cooler's pump. Also, check for good airflow in your case and clean any dust off the cooler.
Ensure your heatsink has thermal paste applied and that the protective film was removed before installation. Also, updating your BIOS can help. If you're using an AIO and still encountering issues, consider checking if the pump is functioning properly. If the stock cooling isn't sufficient, you might look into upgrading to a dual tower cooler like the Peerless Assassin or a better AIO.
