Looking for CPU Fan Recommendations for My i7 7700

I'm planning to upgrade my current CPU to an Intel Core i7 7700 (non-K version), but I've encountered some issues while trying to install it with a basic fan setup. I started getting CPU temperature errors immediately. For context, my current PC specs are: 32GB RAM, 1.82TB storage split between a 2TB SSD and a 2TB HDD, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card. I'm also upgrading my power supply from 500W to 650W. I recently upgraded my video card and RAM to improve my gaming performance, but I've been hitting CPU limits while playing Split Fiction. Any suggestions on suitable CPU coolers or any other aspects I should consider?

A stock cooler should work fine for the i7 7700, but if you're getting those temperature errors right away, it might be a problem with the mounting or the fans. I recommend taking the cooler off, cleaning off the old thermal paste, applying some fresh paste, and making sure everything is securely locked in place. If you're looking to upgrade, a budget-friendly cooler like the Hyper 212, AK400, or Pure Rock 2 would be excellent for a non-K CPU. Just keep in mind that with a 4-core, 8-thread CPU like the 7700, don't expect miracles in performance with modern games, regardless of your cooler choice.

Thanks for the tip! I'm planning to try the new thermal paste since it just arrived. I was waiting to install it alongside a new cooler, but since you're suggesting it, I might as well try it now. I didn’t think about the motherboard upgrade yet, but I guess it might eventually be necessary.
