Considering Building a Client Website with Lovable: Need Your Insights

Hi everyone! I'm exploring the idea of creating a marketing website for a client using Lovable. We've previously built our company site with it, and the whole process went smoothly, driven by our CTO's thoughtful approach. However, I want to know how it might compare with WordPress for a client project. Have any of you built a site for clients using Lovable? What challenges did you face? How is content management handled? Did your clients experience any onboarding issues or struggles down the line? I'd really appreciate any insights you can share. Thank you!

It really comes down to your client's long-term needs. For mostly static marketing sites, Lovable can be awesome if it's set up right—your CTO seems to have nailed it. But the tricky part is managing content. WordPress is more straightforward for non-techies to make updates. Think about who’ll be maintaining the site later. If they aren’t tech-savvy, they might find Lovable cumbersome and need your help for content changes. Personally, I’ve had better luck with using a headless CMS alongside a frontend framework, as it combines Lovable's benefits with easier content management like WordPress.

Thanks for the tips! We actually created a dashboard with Lovable as a kind of CMS, making content updates easier without much hassle.

My CTO has restored my faith in Lovable too! It's impressive to see how it can handle more than just basic sites.

I've done client sites using newer builders, and while they can work well, the handoff can get tricky. Watch out for issues like vendor lock-in, inability to export, and workflow challenges for non-dev team members. Make sure your client can manage their own content, control their domain and hosting, and have a backup plan for switching to WordPress or static sites if things go south.
