I recently got my hands on an old Windows Surface RT tablet that my grandma gave me. She probably bought it around 2013, and I think it's a decent tablet. I'm mainly looking to use it for YouTube since the screen is larger than my phone. However, I'm facing some challenges. It seems like Internet Explorer has stopped receiving support, and that's the only browser available on the device. Although I can browse some websites and even download new browsers, I found out that Chrome won't run on it. Additionally, the Microsoft Store won't load for me; it just spins endlessly, which prevents me from downloading any new apps. I really want to find a way to watch YouTube on this thing. Are there any lesser-known browsers that might work for streaming?

I have a Surface RT myself, and it’s definitely a dead end for most modern applications. You could try to find niche browsers, but the performance will likely be really limited.
You could try installing Linux on it if you're up for a bit of tinkering. It might let you run different browsers that could work better for streaming. Here's a video tutorial that might help you out: [link]
Honestly, I’d say it’s probably not worth the effort. These tablets have become quite obsolete for streaming. But if you really want to try something, you could check out this guide: [link]
The Microsoft Store for devices older than Windows 10 is no longer supported, so you're out of luck there. Do you have Microsoft Edge installed? It might work for watching videos, though a lot of users have said they can't even get Edge on the Surface RT.
Nah, I don’t have Edge; it's just stuck on Internet Explorer.

Honestly, that sounds like a fun project! I've never used Linux before, but I'm willing to give it a shot. Thanks!
