What’s the Difference Between iMac, Mac Mini, and Mac Studio for Creative Work?

Hey everyone! I've recently discovered my passion for working on various projects using Adobe software, but my MacBook Pro just can't keep up anymore. I got the laptop at the start of high school, and my parents are considering buying me a new computer as I head off to university. We've talked about getting an iMac, and they seem open to it, but I'm a bit confused. Can someone explain the differences between a standard iMac and the other options like Mac Mini and Mac Studio? For context, I'm frequently using Adobe software, and my older MacBook struggles—especially GarageBand gets really slow when I have more than six tracks going. Any insights would be super helpful!

The Mac Mini comes with M# and M# Pro chips, while the Mac Studio features the more powerful M# Max and M# Ultra chips. In contrast, the standard iMac only has the basic M# chip. It's also important to note that the iMac is an all-in-one, while with a Mac Mini or Mac Studio, you'll need to get a monitor, keyboard, and mouse separately. If your MacBook Pro is an older Intel model, then even the regular M# chip in the new iMac will be a big upgrade for you. Also, the new machines typically start with 16GB of RAM, which is a significant boost compared to the 8GB in your current laptop. But, if you’re heading to college, you might find a laptop more useful—you could consider a MacBook Air for a good balance of price and performance!

I currently have a 2020 13-inch MacBook Pro with 8GB RAM and also an iPad for school. I'm curious about what I would do if I picked up a Mac Mini or Mac Studio. Can I connect it to our old 2015 iMac, or do I need a separate monitor? I want to set up an efficient workstation for video editing, music production, and content creation. It seems like the machines in my school run super smoothly; I'm a bit overwhelmed with options!
