Struggling with Slow Internet After Switching from BT to EE – Any Fixes?

Hey everyone! I recently switched from BT to EE for my internet service, but I'm facing some major issues. I work from home and love gaming, but the internet speed is terrible right now. For example, my Steam downloads went from a decent 4-7Mb/s down to only around 100Kb/s! This led to me waiting over 12 hours to download the latest 40Gb Marvel's Rivals update. I'm experiencing constant packet loss and jittering while gaming too. Both EE Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi-X networks show up, but my new router won't arrive until May 20th. I've tried changing channels in the BT settings, but the EE Wi-Fi cycles through channels 1 to 6 or 11. Can someone help me troubleshoot? I'm wondering if it's a contract problem, data cap issue, or maybe interference. I do have the EE password now, so I might try that as well.

First off, what plan did you sign up for with EE? Also, how long has it been since you started using their service? Sometimes, the initial connection speed might be lower right after install. It's worth checking if the slow speeds are happening across different devices and whether you're running multiple devices that might be hogging bandwidth too. And remember to restart your router regularly – it often helps!

Wait a second, you mentioned you don't have a router, but you're able to connect to EE broadband? I'm a bit puzzled here. Have you tried reconfiguring your BT router instead? It might be worth setting that up again to see if it helps. Just make sure that it’s properly set up to connect with EE if that's the case!

I’m not exactly connected; I can just see EE show up in the list. I did try reconfiguring and even factory resetting the BT router, but it's still super slow.
