I recently got my hands on an RX 9070 XT, but I feel like my Ryzen 5 5600G is lagging. I'm searching for a new AM4 processor and was considering the Ryzen 5 5500X3D. However, I can only find the 5500X around here, while the 5700X is also an option I'm weighing. I'd love to hear if anyone thinks it's better to go for the 5500X3D or to opt for the 5700X instead.

I’ve got a Ryzen 9 5900X paired with a 7900 XT, and honestly, it all comes down to your budget. If you can swing it, the 5900X is definitely worth the extra cost, especially if you can find it on sale. For you, the 5700X is probably your best bet since the 5800X is a bit pricier for just a slight performance bump. Plus, there's a great deal on Amazon right now for the 5700X at 30% off!

If you're still looking, try checking Aliexpress for options like 5600 or 5700 series CPUs. If you're into games that utilize multiple cores, a 5700X or higher can give you a major boost, but if you only play less demanding games, it might not be worth the investment. Make sure to compare prices and get the best value for the core count you want. The 5500X3D could also be a sweet choice if the price isn't too high—just check performance reviews for your current CPU against these options before you decide.

Running a 5700X with a 7900 XTX for around six months now, and I haven’t had any issues performance-wise. It’s a solid processor if you can't get your hands on the X3D model.

The 5500X3D really removes the main issues with the 5500 and 5600G, like increasing the L3 cache from 16MB to 96MB and adding PCIe 4.0 support. You should see smoother gameplay with better 1% lows if you go for this one.
