Hey everyone! I built my PC quite a while ago back in 2013, and I haven't really kept up with gaming since around 2016. I know I'll eventually need a whole new setup to play the latest titles, but for now, I'm just looking to get it up and running again and enjoy some of the games I liked back in the day. I recently got No Man's Sky, and while my PC can manage it, it struggles and I'd prefer not to play on the lowest settings since the game is stunning.
Here are my current specs:
- Processor: Intel Core i7-3770K 3.50GHz
- Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 670
- RAM: 16GB DDR3
- Motherboard: MSI Z77A-GD55
I'm wondering if there are any older graphics cards, released after 2013, that would be an upgrade from my GTX 670 and compatible with my motherboard. I'm not even sure if stores still sell graphics cards from that time, but if I have some models in mind, I can look into the used market.
I'm also considering adding more RAM and would appreciate any other tips to squeeze some extra performance out of this old machine until I can save up for a new build. Thanks a lot!

Honestly, given the specs of your PC, running modern games at decent settings is tough. Most newer games won't perform well, but if you're mainly playing older titles or less demanding games, you could consider options like the Intel Arc B580. It’s cost-effective, though your performance will still be limited by the rest of your system until you upgrade completely.
What’s your budget for the upgrade? Knowing that can really help narrow down the options!
I’m looking to spend around $200-300, maybe up to $500 if I can add another stick of RAM to enhance performance even more.

That makes sense! As long as it boosts performance for the games I want to play, I’m on board. Just thought the upgrade might feel underwhelming, given my current setup.
