I'm about to graduate with a Web Development Associate's Degree from a public school in Spain, and I'm feeling pretty ambitious about my future. However, I have my doubts about whether this degree alone can help me secure a six-figure salary and potential job offers in the US or Canada. I'd love some insights on what I can do to enhance my résumé to make it more appealing, even with just this associate's degree. I'm also interested in non-technical skills or projects that could be beneficial. For instance, I've been reading a lot about macroeconomics and I enjoy data analysis. I'm even working on building arbitrage bots for various markets because I love data management. Any advice on how I might combine these interests with my web development skills to be a competitive candidate?

Honestly, it's a tough market right now. Many people flocked to web development during Covid, and now there are just tons of developers out there all vying for the same positions. Plus, with AI on the rise, the competition is stiff. If you really want to boost your chances, consider branching out into software project management or even some business courses to enhance your skill set. A degree alone won’t cut it unless it’s backed by solid experience.

That's fair. What do you think about trying to get into a consulting firm? I could join a team that works with numbers and economics while still coding for them. It might help me build a portfolio in business and data analysis.
