Why is my M.2-2280 SSD not recognized by my motherboard?

I'm having trouble getting my M.2-2280 SSD to be detected by my motherboard, even though the specs say it's compatible. It's been a while since my last upgrade—about six years—and I'm a bit out of the loop on some tech details. I also got some feedback that there might be compatibility issues between SSD and NVMe drives. Can anyone help clarify this for me?

Make sure you didn't accidentally get a SATA M.2 SSD instead of an NVMe one. They look similar, but they have different connections. If your motherboard supports M.2-2280 but isn't recognizing it, that could be the issue. Double-check which type you have!

I think your PCPartPicker link might not be working right. Be sure it’s public so folks can see your build. Sometimes having private links can cause confusion. Also, just in case, here's a quick guide to make your list visible: when editing your list, look for the option to generate a public permalink.
