Why am I getting a “Unusual traffic from your computer network” message on YouTube?

I've been watching YouTube without any issues, but recently I encountered a message stating there's "unusual traffic from my computer network" when I try to access the site. It prompts me to complete a CAPTCHA, but even after that, YouTube still won't fully load. I'm not very tech-savvy, so I'm concerned there might be malware or something serious happening. I already conducted a Google security check, but I'm still having trouble getting on YouTube. Should I be worried?

You can definitely stop worrying about malware for now. YouTube has been glitching lately, so it’s more likely a problem on their side than anything wrong with your computer.

Honestly, it might just be a temporary issue with YouTube itself. A lot of people are experiencing this right now. It’s not on your end—just hang tight!

One reason you might be seeing that message is if you're using a VPN or a VPN browser extension. These can trigger warnings about unusual traffic because they mask your IP address, making it look like strange activity is coming from your network.
