I'm currently looking for a new job because I feel underpaid and overwhelmed at my current company, especially with all the ongoing staff shortages. My experience is mostly in using and creating websites with HTML and CSS through a custom CMS, and while I've helped a friend edit his WordPress site, I have no actual WordPress experience. I recently got a job offer from a company that's looking for someone to enhance their WordPress site, manage SEO, and handle ad campaigns. They previously worked with an external agency but now want someone in-house. The catch is that I would be working alone, without any formal training, and they'll be monitoring my progress at the office. Although I enjoy working independently, I feel like I'd need to watch numerous tutorials to catch up. This job offer is my only option right now, and despite my enthusiasm, I'm anxious about my lack of experience—especially since real developers might be more qualified. Should I take the plunge?

If you’ve done well in interviews and you didn’t misrepresent your skills, there’s no reason to panic. Learning on the job is totally normal, and tutorials are your friend! Just embrace the learning curve that comes with it.
You're overthinking it a bit. You’ve got the skills, and they picked you for a reason. Just accept it and see where it goes! Congrats on the offer!
Luck favors the brave! You've got this. Plus, this job allows you to learn a whole new tech stack that could level up your skills. Just keep your backup options ready!
Just a heads up: taking over a WordPress site can be tricky depending on how the previous team set it up. If they used standard plugins and documentations, you’ll adjust quickly. But if they have custom code sprinkled everywhere, it may take a little more digging to figure things out. Ask for any transition documentation you can get.
You're good at problem-solving, and WordPress isn't too complex, to be honest. Just dive in—if you managed other systems, this will be straightforward!
You made a funny! Totally agree, it’s not as complicated as it seems.

Rocket surgery, right? That's a new one, love it!
