Best Ways to Transfer Photos and Videos from Android to iPhone Without Using Move to iOS

I've recently switched to an iPhone 17 Pro and I'm trying to move around 18,000 photos and videos from my Android phone. I have everything backed up on Google Drive, but I want to avoid using the Move to iOS app since I would have to reset my phone for that. My main goal is to get all my media onto the iPhone. I also have a laptop, so I'm open to connecting both phones to it for the transfer. Any suggestions on how to transfer my photos and videos effectively, preferably while keeping the items organized by date?

A good option is to transfer everything to your laptop first, then sync it over to your iPhone. You can use various tools to help, and it saves you from resetting.

Could you explain how to do that? Will everything come over in the right order, or do I need an app for organizing?

Why not just use the Move to iOS app? It's designed to handle this transfer smoothly.

I’d rather avoid resetting my phone. My WhatsApp files take up a lot of space, and I don't have enough iCloud storage for that.

Hmm, what's the issue with resetting? Is it really that much of a hassle?

If you're still using Google Photos on Android, just install it on your iPhone and log in. All your media should already be there, plus any new ones taken on the iPhone will back up automatically.

Unfortunately, it's not showing everything, and I don't have enough Google storage to keep it all. I'm considering transferring it by laptop or just using Move to iOS as a last resort.
