I recently installed Hamachi, and ever since, my E drive has been acting up. Files have turned read-only, I had to restore permissions, and now I can't download or update any games on that drive. I've given full access permissions and even ensured Steam has admin rights. My E drive is an SSD and I checked for faults, but everything seems fine. I'm not sure what to do next!

It sounds like the drive might be failing rather than it being an issue from Hamachi specifically. Has it been acting up before? You mentioned that you checked it for faults; I hope you have backups of important files just in case. You might want to consider running another diagnostics tool to be sure, or even asking a friend who knows more about hardware to check it out.
If you're okay losing the data, reformatting could be a solution to reset the drive back to proper functioning. Just keep in mind that you'll lose everything on it. If nothing else works, it might be worth a try.
Yeah, I don't have much that's important, so I'll probably try that soon unless something less drastic comes up first.
Just a quick note—correlation doesn’t imply causation. Just because Hamachi was installed around the same time as the issues began doesn't mean it's responsible. Your drive could have had other issues that surfaced after the install.
I get that, but it feels like the timing is suspicious! Can you explain it in simpler terms? I'm not really tech-savvy.

It started acting weird after I installed Hamachi. I read that someone else had a similar experience, so I got worried it’s related. But I also did some checks and still have plenty of space, so I guess I’ll keep an eye on it for now.
