I'm currently gaming on a Ryzen 3 3200G, which is pretty outdated. I'm considering an upgrade to a Ryzen 7 5700, but I've seen some mixed reviews calling it a bad CPU compared to the Ryzen 5 5600. The problem is that all the 5600s I find are sold out. I believe there isn't a huge difference between the two, so I'm thinking of going with the 5700 paired with an RX 6600. I want to know if this is a good choice or just a waste of money. My motherboard is a Gigabyte A320M-S2H, and I have 2x8GB of RAM.

The Ryzen 7 5700 is decent overall; it offers a solid jump from the 3200G. While its 16MB L3 cache compared to the 32MB of the 5600 or 5700X isn't ideal, for many users, it may not make a massive difference—especially if you're not playing demanding games.
You might want to check out the Ryzen 5 5600F or 5600X if possible. The Ryzen 5 5600 is generally better for gaming since the 5700 has half the L3 cache, which can impact performance. Honestly, the 5700 isn't great compared to the 5600, so you might want to hold out for the better option.
The 5700 is based on the 5700G, which means it has a smaller L3 cache, making its gaming performance closer to the 3700X. You might find even an R5 3600 as a significant upgrade from your current CPU if you're open to used options.

Do you think it's worth it, or should I just save for a 5700X? I mostly play less demanding games like CS and LoL.
