Is Linux Mint a Good Choice for New Hardware?

I've just put together a custom PC and I'm ready to ditch Windows for Linux. I'm not completely new to Linux; my laptop for torrenting runs Mint, and my entertainment setup uses Bazzite. I'm aiming for a stable system that just works, and I thought Mint would be the ideal choice. However, I've come across some advice stating that Mint, or Debian-based systems in general, may struggle with newer hardware. Is this really the case? If so, what's a solid alternative that offers good stability? I've heard about Cachy being performance-oriented instead of stability-focused. While I'm okay with using Bazzite, it's given me quite a bit of trouble in the past, so I'd rather not stick with it if I can help it. I'll primarily use my setup for gaming, but I'm not looking for a gaming-specific distro—just something stable without the fuss! My hardware includes a 9070 XT GPU, a 9700 X CPU, an MSI pro B850-VC motherboard, and 32 GB of DDR5 RAM. Thanks for any insights!

If you want something that’s pretty stable and not too old, Pop!_OS 24.04 LTS has a newer kernel which should support your setup better than Mint does. It's user-friendly and easy to get started with, unlike Mint, which has become a bit lacking in updates for new hardware.
