I'm curious if we're currently in the worst phase to build a gaming PC due to the high prices of components. Is it likely to get worse, or have we reached the peak where prices won't go higher?

From what I’ve seen, yes, it’s pretty bad right now. Prices just keep increasing, especially RAM and GPUs. Many believe it’ll remain like this until at least 2027, which is concerning. But if you really need a PC now, I’d say go for it if you've got the funds. Otherwise, waiting could save you some money.
For sure! It seems every week, I see another price hike happening. Glad I pulled the trigger on my build last year.
While many say it's a tough time, if you're on a tight budget, you might want to check the used market. There are good deals to be found there. Honestly, the new parts prices have gone crazy! Second-hand options could save you quite a bit and might be worth considering.
Yeah, I just got a decent prebuilt for a fraction of the price. Definitely worth looking into used parts!
I agree! I got my last build with quite a few used parts, and it turned out great.
Honestly, I built my first PC back in 2001 when parts were a lot lower. While today seems rough, I still think we’ve had it worse during the crypto craze! Restarting or upgrading now could be harder, but it’s not at its absolute worst historically. Just compare the current RAM prices to back then!
Totally! Remember when you could pick up a decent GPU for under $300? It's wild how much it's changed.
For sure! But still, prices now feel like a slap compared to what they could be. It’s all over the place!
Honestly, it feels like this is the worst time ever to build a PC, considering how steep prices have climbed lately. While it might get better eventually, there's no way to guarantee that right now. A lot of people are leaning towards waiting, but with the way things are going, you never know if it'll actually get worse before it improves.
Exactly! I've been holding off on building my new rig. Last year, prices were definitely more reasonable.
Right? I built my setup back in late 2019, and now I'm just shocked at how much more expensive everything is.

Ugh, I know what you mean! Prices are through the roof, but who knows if it'll get better anytime soon.
