Hey everyone! I recently built a new PC, but I'm facing some frustrating problems with it randomly shutting down during Dota 2 sessions. I've played other games without any issues, but I've had a couple of freezes in Gunfire Reborn too, requiring a hard restart. Here are the symptoms I noticed:
- The screen goes black and the audio cuts out.
- The fans stop spinning, and there's a click sound (the same click happens when I manually turn off my PC).
- All the LEDs remain on.
Here are my specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
- GPU: Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 XT OC
- RAM: Kingston Fury 16GB (borrowed from a friend)
- Motherboard: Gigabyte X870 Gaming WIFI6
- PSU: Seasonic Focus GX 850W ATX 3.1
- SSD 1 (Boot): Kingston NV2 Gen 4 500GB
- SSD 2 (Gaming): Kingston Fury Renegade M.2 Gen 4 2TB
- 9x Phanteks DRGB fans.
So far, I've swapped my original Corsair PSU for the Seasonic one, stress-tested both CPU and GPU, reset the BIOS, and cut the GPU's power limit. I'm pretty sure overheating isn't the issue because the temps never go above 60C, and even under load, they hit a maximum of 75C. I've searched for answers but couldn't find anything similar to my situation. I'm considering replacing the motherboard, but that's a substantial cost. The shutdowns seem to happen more often when I'm really playing Dota, but not when I'm just idling in the menu or on the desktop. Any advice would be appreciated!

Sounds similar to an issue I had with my build where the RAM was set too fast with XMP. I lowered the clock speed in the BIOS, and that fix my stability problems. You should try that and also make sure your BIOS is updated. Just a thought, but maybe your friend’s RAM isn't as reliable as it seems.
This could be related to your wall socket. Have you tried different outlets? Also, consider turning off any low power settings like C-states in the BIOS—sometimes they can interfere if the CPU is being undervolted.
You might want to check your event viewer again for any errors that could point to the cause of the shutdowns. Sometimes it helps to narrow it down if you can see any patterns in the errors.
I did look, but there was nothing specific except for the unexpected shutdowns.

I’ve tested different sockets with no luck. I also disabled global C-States a while back, still having the same issues. Interestingly, I noticed more problems when I was streaming on Discord.
