Help! BSOD on ACPI.sys After Driver Download

Hey everyone, I'm having a really frustrating issue with my computer. I started getting a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) related to ACPI.sys after I downloaded Capcut and an incompatible driver it prompted me to install. Initially, everything seemed fine but after a restart, my computer began lagging, screen tearing occurred, and it was running super slow. When I checked the device manager, I saw a warning triangle next to my display driver, and it showed a "Code 48". I've tried following various YouTube tutorials to fix it, but nothing has worked so far. Unfortunately, I can't find a restore point either. I need this computer to edit a video for an upcoming presentation, and I'm worried I might have messed it up for good. Any help or solutions would be greatly appreciated! Here are my specs: Intel HD Graphics 4000, i7-3770K. Before the BSOD, the error stated that the thread was not handled in ACPI.sys, and now it shows a "System Service Exception" with the same ACPI.sys failure. I can share a dump file if needed.

It might help to uninstall the problematic driver completely. You can do this in Device Manager by finding the display driver with the warning sign, right-clicking it, and selecting 'Uninstall device.' After that, reboot your computer and Windows might try to reinstall the default one for you. If it doesn't, you could look for the correct driver on the manufacturer's website. Make sure you really download what’s compatible with your system. Don't worry too much, these issues can usually be fixed!

First up, it sounds like a driver issue for sure. If you can boot into Windows normally or through Safe Mode, you should check the C:WindowsMinidump folder for any crash dump files. These files contain valuable info that can help pinpoint the problem. To grab them, zip the folder and upload it to a file sharing site like MediaFire or Catbox. If you’re not sure how to zip files, just right-click on the folder and choose 'Send to → Compressed (Zipped) folder'. Having multiple dump files helps a lot in identifying the issue! Good luck!
