I recently took apart my RTX 3060 to clean it and replaced the thermal pads with Thermal Grizzly Basic TG putty. I also reapplied the thermal paste, using a method from a video where a small amount was suggested. I ended up using a bit more than shown, but mostly just blobbed it in the center. After putting everything back together, my temps during gaming seem normal. However, I found some advice online suggesting that I should overapply thermal paste to ensure full coverage. Now I'm wondering if I need to take the card apart again to reapply the paste for better coverage, or if the current application is fine since the card is running normally. Also, will disassembling it ruin the thermal putty? It's quite expensive, so I'd like to avoid replacing it unnecessarily. Thanks!

Honestly, it's fine! You don't need to overthink this. Next time, consider spreading the thermal paste evenly instead of just using a blob—that'll cover more area better. But right now, if the temps are steady, you're good to go!
If your temperatures are looking good, there's no need to stress about it! Many people recommend overapplying just to be safe, but if your card is running smoothly, you likely did it right. Just make sure to monitor all the temps using HWinfo64 to confirm everything's in check. As for the thermal putty, it should be fine unless it's been used for an extended period of time.
