What’s the Best Device for Listening to Audiobooks in the Pool?

I'm looking to enjoy Libby audiobooks while relaxing in my pool this summer but want to avoid the hassle of using my phone around a lot of kids. Last year, I used a waterproof pouch for my phone and bone-conducting headphones, but I'm worried about losing my phone in the chaos. I need something smaller and more convenient too! My options include:
1. A waterproof iPod touch (if only that were possible!).
2. A cheap Android music player, but reviews are mixed and they lack waterproofing.
3. A prepaid Android phone in case I need to stay connected, but I'm not sure about managing SIM cards.
4. An app for smartwatches, which I can't create.
5. Jailbreaking a smartwatch to run Libby, not something I can risk.
6. Convincing a wearable company to create a Libby device (unlikely!).
So basically, I'm leaning toward options 2 or 3 but am open to any suggestions or thoughts to help me out!

Just get a cheap Android phone and use a waterproof pouch for it. You can download the Libby app and keep it simple without overcomplicating things!

Have you thought about the AfterShokz headphones? They’re bone-conducting and great for use in and around water.

How about using a water-resistant Bluetooth speaker? They have some that are designed to float, so you wouldn’t have to worry about your phone. Just keep it at a splash-free zone nearby—might be a good compromise!

That’s a public pool though, so I need headphones. Plus, I’d be too far from the phone for Bluetooth to work anyway. I’ve found Bluetooth speakers get muffled when splashed, even the floating ones.

Consider an Amazon Fire tablet! They’re around $50, support Libby, and are less risky to damage compared to other gadgets. Bigger but still affordable and functional for audiobooks!

Are there not waterproof Bluetooth earbuds available? Seems like they could do the trick without needing to worry about the phone, right?

There are waterproof earbuds, but they don’t have good sound quality when submerged. I prefer bone-conducting headphones to avoid blocking sounds from around me, which is safer in the pool.
