Hey everyone! I'm new to Linux and recently installed antiX on my old MacBook Air. The installation was straightforward since it just replaced the original drive. However, I've realized that antiX isn't the right distribution for me, and I want to switch to Linux Mint Cinnamon. I created a bootable USB with the Mint ISO, but when I boot into the live environment, it doesn't recognize the hard drive on my laptop—only the USB drive shows up. This is driving me crazy! Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried using a different distro on the USB to see if it recognizes your hard drive? I recommend using something like SystemRescue because it has some useful diagnostic tools. Any distro that has GParted should work too.
I hear you! Just to clarify, when you're in the live Mint environment, you should see a step where you're able to select a partition. If all that's visible is the USB with Mint on it, that could indicate a problem with either the hard drive recognition or the installation medium not being properly configured. How are you checking for the HDD visibility in GParted?
Also, if you're looking to wipe the current hard drive and do a clean install of Mint, you can do that during the installation process. Just select the option to erase the disk and install Mint. This will remove everything on the hard drive, so make sure you've backed up any important data you want to keep!
